On May 21, 2026, Nathan Phillips Square will transform into a rugby pitch for 'Rugby In The Square.' This marquee event brings together Toronto’s most engaged employers to compete in a 5-aside flag rugby tournament, all in the name of making youth sports more accessible and inclusive.

The Mission Proceeds from the tournament support the Toronto Inner-City Rugby Foundation (TIRF) and Rugby Ontario. These organizations work tirelessly to provide community development initiatives across the city and province. By attending, you are helping to ensure that more youth have the opportunity to participate in sports, regardless of their background.

Why Go? With 32 teams and over 300 players taking the pitch, it is a high-energy event that showcases the spirit of competitiveness and camaraderie that defines rugby. It is a great way to spend a day in the heart of the city, watching some fun, fast-paced action while supporting a fantastic cause.

Practical Info The tournament runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The public is welcome to come watch the fun for free. It is a perfect way to enjoy the spring weather at Nathan Phillips Square and cheer on the teams as they play for a better future for youth sports.
