Glad Day Lit
Remember when the internet didn't have sound or video, but relied entirely on your imagination and a blinking cursor? Glad Day Lit is hosting a delightfully nostalgic and uniquely geeky evening with *Queers Playing in the M.U.D.* (Multi-User Dungeon), celebrating how early text-based virtual worlds served as vital safe havens for queer and trans folks to experiment with identity.
### What Goes Down Running from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the night guides participants through logging into a live-running historical M.U.D. dating back to 1993. You'll build a character—choosing roles like mage, bard, warrior, or thief—and explore a sprawling open world blending historical accuracy with fantasy.
### Practical Details * **What to bring:** You **must** bring a laptop with a keyboard, as the event involves plenty of typing. (Limited loaners available upon prior request). * **Vibe:** Casual and comfortable. Headphones are recommended if you want to dive deep into group quests amidst the lively room chatter. * **Tickets:** Sliding scale from $7 to $20, with pay-what-you-can options.
Located on Lisgar Street in West Queen West, Glad Day Lit provides an accessible, welcoming space to meet fellow tech-nostalgists and fantasy gamers.
