Unleash your creativity in the Omote Ura Workshop, an intuitive drawing session led by visual artist Yuka Yamaguchi. This workshop is designed to help you slow down, tune into your inner world, and create art from a place of intuition rather than perfection.
What to Expect
Using colored pencils and components from her own images, Yuka will guide you through her creative process. It’s an accessible, beginner-friendly session that encourages participants of all ages to explore their own wild imaginings. Whether you're an experienced artist or just looking for a creative outlet, this workshop offers a unique space to experiment and express your evolving identity.
About the Artist
Yuka Yamaguchi is a self-taught artist whose work is deeply rooted in intuition, memory, and the intimate dialogue between body and self. Her practice is heavily influenced by her experience as an immigrant to Canada, navigating new landscapes and shifting notions of belonging.
Practical Info
The workshop is open to all age groups (children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian). All materials are included in the ticket price of $25 ($20 for members). It’s a fantastic way to spend an evening at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, so be sure to check out what else is happening at the centre during SakuraFest.
