National Theatre Live: The Misanthrope — with Sandra Oh
Sunday, October 11, 2026
3:30 p.m. – 6:08 p.m.
506 Bloor Street West
National Theatre Live brings *The Misanthrope* to Hot Docs with Sandra Oh (*Killing Eve*) in the title role — a contemporary rewrite of Molière that treats truth-telling as both virtue and social suicide.
The production
Alice, a brilliant novelist, refuses the careful lies of modern society. The more she pushes, the fiercer the backlash. Indhu Rubasingham directs Martin Crimp’s highly anticipated adaptation, filmed live on the National Theatre stage. Crimp’s previous NT Live hit was *Cyrano de Bergerac*; this one leans darker and sharper.
