Nova: After The Music

Friday, December 4, 2026 – Saturday, December 5, 2026
8:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Meridian Arts Centre: Miriam Green Theatre
NOVA: After The Music plays the Miriam Green Theatre at the Meridian Arts Centre (5040 Yonge St.) on Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 8 p.m. both nights.
It is a new dance production inspired by the story of a survivor of the Nova Music Festival massacre in Israel on October 7, 2023. Through contemporary dance, music and immersive theatrical storytelling, the piece traces a path from the freedom and joy of the festival through terror and survival to grief and, finally, resilience.
The producers describe it as both a deeply personal story and a collective act of remembrance. It honours the lives that were lost, gives space to the stories of those who survived and asks what it means to carry memory forward after a catastrophe. The title points to the central image: finding a reason to keep dancing after the music stops.
This is heavy subject matter, and audiences should go in expecting a work about trauma and loss as much as a dance show. Movement-based theatre can reach places that a straight play or documentary cannot, and the Miriam Green Theatre is a small, close room where that kind of work lands hard. Check the listing for any age guidance or content advisories before bringing younger viewers.
Practical notes: the Meridian Arts Centre sits directly above North York Centre station on Line 1, so it is an easy subway trip from downtown, and there is paid parking on site. Ticket prices were not listed when we checked, so confirm on Ticketmaster. With only two performances in a small theatre, it is worth booking ahead.
