Looking for a creative and memorable way to spend Mother's Day weekend? Head over to The Village at Black Creek for a magical afternoon of miniature-making. In this hands-on workshop, fibre artist Cathy Disbrow will guide you through the art of needle felting, helping you transform vintage teacups into whimsical, tiny realms.

A Unique Farm-to-Art Experience What makes this workshop truly special is its connection to the Village itself. You’ll be working with wool sourced directly from the Village’s own flock of Border Leicester sheep. Before or after you craft your masterpiece, take a stroll through the grounds to visit the sheep in their field—a perfect way to enjoy the spring weather.

What to Expect Whether you're coming with a friend or treating Mom to a special day out, this workshop is designed for all skill levels; no prior experience is necessary. All materials are provided, including a selection of vintage teacups to choose from, though you are welcome to bring your own heirloom cup if you have one that holds special meaning.

Your ticket ($75 + HST & Fees) includes free admission to the Village, which opens at 11:00 a.m. We recommend arriving early to explore the historic grounds and enjoy a picnic lunch before the workshop begins. Please note that while wool and needles are included, foam felting pads are provided for use during the session and can be purchased if you wish to continue your new hobby at home.

Located in North York, The Village at Black Creek offers a peaceful escape from the city bustle, making it the ideal setting for a relaxing, creative day.
