Before you head to the match, make a stop at Canoe Landing Park on June 12 for a free concert by Moskitto Bar. This band is a true reflection of Toronto’s multicultural identity, featuring seven members from seven different nations who all found each other here in the city.
The Sound
Moskitto Bar creates a unique blend of Ukrainian, Balkan, Iraqi Middle-Eastern, and French Celtic music. Their story is as compelling as their sound—the group formed after meeting in Northern Ontario, where they spent their days sharing and teaching each other melodies and rhythms. Their name even comes from the rural Ontario mosquitoes that feasted on them during those early sessions!
Why Go?
With members hailing from Ukraine, Iraq, Algeria, Greece, Japan, Poland, and Canada, the band is a living, breathing example of unity in diversity. It’s the perfect soundtrack for a day celebrating the world coming together for soccer. The concert runs from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., just a stone's throw from the Fan Zone at Fort York. It’s free, heartwarming, and a great way to get into the spirit of the day.
