If you have ever wanted to see your favorite digital photographs transformed into stunning physical objects using light and shadow, the Toronto Reference Library has a workshop for you. This unique hands-on session introduces participants to the art of making lithophanes.

What to Expect Attendees are asked to bring along a personal photo they would like to transform. Through the library's makerspace resources, you will learn the step-by-step process of creating a translucent etched image that reveals its hidden detail when backlit. No prior design or 3D printing experience is necessary, and all extra materials are provided.

Getting There The workshop takes place in Learning Center 2 at the iconic Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge Street), right at Bloor-Yonge subway station. Drop by for a quick, creative afternoon in downtown Toronto.
