Combine art and local ecology at the Long Branch Library's upcoming Leaf Printing Workshop. Using real leaves gathered from the neighbourhood, participants will learn how to create beautiful painted art prints, greeting cards, bookmarks, and fabric patches.
What to Expect
This hands-on craft session features a special collaboration with urban forest researcher summer students from the Long Branch Neighbourhood Association. As you press and print, you'll learn to identify different local tree species and pick up expert tips for telling them apart in the wild.
Bring Your Own Textiles
While supplies and papers are provided, attendees are encouraged to bring a plain tote bag, t-shirt, or extra fabric items from home if they want to give them a botanical makeover. The workshop is free, family-friendly, and takes place at the Long Branch branch (3500 Lake Shore Boulevard West). Stick around afterward for a stroll through the lakeside neighbourhood.
