Immerse yourself in nature, sound, and local waterways with the first artist-led edition of the Lassonde Art Trail's Wellbeing Walks series. 'Soundings' by renowned UK-born and Toronto-based artist Simon Pope invites participants to reflect on the interconnectedness of human wellbeing and the natural world.
What to Experience
Led by a professional singer performing 'sounding calls' along the pathways of Biidaasige Park, walkers will tune into the fluctuations of Lake Ontario's water levels and our collective relationship to the watershed. Along the route, participants will encounter several Lassonde Art Trail sculptures that guide the contemplative journey.
Standout Collaborators
The walk features contributions from acclaimed vocalists including tenor Austin Larusson, praised for his operatic depth, and baritone/saxophonist Tyler Prince, a graduate of the Royal Conservatory's Taylor Academy who has graced major stages like Koerner Hall and Roy Thomson Hall.
Practical Details
This free event takes place outdoors along the waterfront paths. Dress comfortably for walking, and plan your trek to the Port Lands/Biidaasige Park area ahead of time. It's a peaceful, thought-provoking midweek escape from the downtown bustle.
