Investing can feel incredibly intimidating, especially if you're just starting out. Whether you're trying to figure out the difference between a TFSA and an RRSP, or you’re just wondering how to get started with your first investment, this workshop at the Richview Library is designed to clear up the confusion.
What You’ll Learn
This session is presented by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), the national self-regulatory body that oversees investment dealers and trading activity in Canada. Because it's presented by a regulatory body rather than a bank or a private firm, you can expect unbiased, educational information. Topics include:
- How to save with the goal of investing
- Understanding different types of investments
- How to open an account and the different types of accounts available
- How to spot and avoid financial fraud and scams
Why Attend?
Financial literacy is one of the most important skills you can develop, and it’s never too late (or too early) to start. This is a free, no-pressure environment where you can ask questions and get reliable information.
