Ever wanted to learn the Charleston or the Suzy Q? Now is your chance. Join Natasha Powell of Holla Jazz for an introductory workshop on Authentic Jazz Dance on Saturday, April 11th at 80 Winchester Street.
What is Authentic Jazz Dance? Authentic Jazz Dance is a collection of dances that emerged from African-American communities between the late 1800s and the mid-1900s. It’s deeply connected to the rhythm and energy of jazz and swing music. This workshop will explore the history of these moves and provide you with the tips and tools to bring them to life on the dance floor.
Who Should Attend? This workshop is open to anyone aged 16 and older, regardless of your dance experience. Whether you're a seasoned dancer looking to expand your repertoire or a complete beginner just looking to have some fun and move your body, this is an inclusive, welcoming environment.
The workshop runs from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. It's a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning, get some exercise, and learn a bit of cultural history in the process.
