The Broadview Danforth BIA is turning up the heat on the Danforth with a celebration of the world's game. This community-focused event kicks off with a treasure trove hunt featuring a $1,000 grand prize, alongside face painters, balloon twisters, and superheroes to keep the little ones entertained.
A Global Sound
The highlight of the afternoon is a free outdoor concert at the Green P lot on Danforth and Playter. Catch Moskitto Bar, a collective of international Toronto musicians known for their eclectic, genre-bending sound. They'll be performing a set designed to reflect the musical stylings of the countries featured in the upcoming soccer matches, offering a unique auditory tour of the world's soccer cultures. It’s the perfect way to soak up the pre-match energy of the city.
Make a Day of It
Before or after the concert, take a stroll along the Danforth. With live music at various CafeTO patios, the neighbourhood will be buzzing. Whether you're a die-hard soccer fan or just looking for a lively Saturday afternoon in the east end, this is a great way to connect with the community. The festivities run from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, leaving you plenty of time to grab a bite at one of the many local restaurants nearby.
