Join Toronto-based Cree-Métis artist, educator, and photographer Marissa Magneson for a meaningful, beginner-friendly beading workshop at the Bata Shoe Museum. Participants will learn foundational Indigenous beadwork tools and techniques while crafting their own beaded Orange Shirt pin.

The workshop offers a space for shared learning and reflection. As the artist notes, ceremonial tobacco—one of the four sacred medicines—is incorporated into the pins to help participants navigate the heavy history of residential schools while committing to ongoing reconciliAction. While adding tobacco is optional, it forms an integral part of the communal crafting circle.
