Looking to sharpen your pen? Poet and arts educator Desiree McKenzie is dropping by the Morningside Library in Scarborough for a special youth-focused workshop exploring the mechanics of verse.

What to Expect Participants will dive into the building blocks of poetry, learning how to analyze rhythm, tone, and vivid imagery on the page. Whether you're an aspiring writer looking to refine your craft or just curious about how to unpack your favourite poems, McKenzie's session offers hands-on techniques that bridge reading and writing.

Practical Details The workshop runs from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the program room at the Morningside branch (4279 Lawrence Avenue East). It's a free, drop-in event open to all teens and youth. No prior writing experience is necessary—just bring an open mind and a notebook.
