Hogwarts School of Coding

Head over to the S. Walter Stewart Library in East York for a magical afternoon of robotics and coding. Designed for children ages 6 to 12, the Hogwarts School of Coding uses popular Sphero and Dash & Dot robots to let young learners cast virtual spells through block-based programming.

What to Expect Participants will navigate interactive challenges inspired by the Wizarding World, learning foundational computer science concepts while playing games. It is a hands-on, highly engaging way to introduce kids to STEM topics during summer vacation.

Practical Details The workshop is completely free to attend, but advance registration is required due to limited robot availability. The library is located at 170 Memorial Park Avenue, just a short walk from Pape and Donlands avenues, with plenty of nearby green space at East York Collegiate grounds for a pre- or post-workshop picnic.
