Hands-on K'NEX 3-D Construction & Destruction Challenge

Monday, August 10, 2026
2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Burrows Hall
Budding structural engineers can put their creativity to the ultimate test at the Burrows Hall Library's K'NEX 3-D Construction & Destruction Challenge. Kids aged 6 to 12 are invited to team up, imagine, and construct lightweight, high-strength 3-D bridges using supplied K’NEX pieces.
The real fun begins when construction wraps up: structures are put through a rigorous evaluation process using a specialized "Bridge-Crusher" rig. Young builders will see firsthand how their design iterations perform by measuring strength-to-weight ratios, gaining practical insight into applied science, teamwork, and evidence-based design.
Practical Details - **Where:** Burrows Hall Public Library, 1081 Progress Ave (Scarborough) - **When:** August 10, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - **Cost:** Free - **Who:** School-age children (Ages 6-12)
