Branch Art Exhibit: Works by Farzana Islam

Throughout the month of August, the Albion branch of the Toronto Public Library plays host to a compelling solo art exhibition by Toronto-based illustrator and multimedia artist Farzana Islam.

Shaped by her upbringing in Scarborough’s vibrant multicultural landscape and her experiences entering the Canadian school system as an immigrant child, Islam's work captures the stories that often slip past the mainstream spotlight. As a queer Muslim artist working across illustration, animation, and 3D media, her pieces deeply examine literacy, identity, and the ways young people carve out spaces of belonging in new environments.
