Wrap up the summer season with movement, high spirits, and community connection at the Jamaican Canadian Association in North York. Hosted by the Essence of Mind Outreach Program Inc., the End-of-Summer Healing Rhythms Dance Movement Therapy Class offers a welcoming space to shake off stress, recharge your mental well-being, and celebrate the end of August through the infectious power of music and dance.

Reggaecise and Healing Movement Leading the session is Kevin Carrington, a CBC reporter and certified Reggaecise instructor known for bringing immense enthusiasm and positive energy to the dance floor. The workshop combines Caribbean rhythms with low-barrier fitness movements designed for every body and experience level. Whether you are an experienced dancer or show up with two left feet, the focus is squarely on joy, emotional release, and physical wellness rather than choreography perfection.

Supporting Mental Wellness Through Movement Essence of Mind Outreach Program focuses on accessible mental health initiatives within the community, championing the idea that healing comes in many forms—sometimes through conversation, and sometimes through rhythm. Admission is just $10 and includes entry into an on-site raffle, plus attendees who bring a friend receive a complimentary event t-shirt. The session is open to participants aged 16 through seniors.

Getting There and Venue Details The event takes place at the Jamaican Canadian Association centre at 995 Arrow Road in North York, located just off Finch Avenue West between Weston Road and Highway 400.
