Music Toronto presents Dinuk Wijeratne & Canadian Chamber Orchestra

The Performance The centerpiece of the evening is Wijeratne’s electrifying solo piano and string orchestra piece *Gajaga Vannama*. Drawing inspiration from Sri Lankan ritual traditions and the majestic movement of elephants, the score pulses with driving dance beats, jazz influences, and vivid tonal colors. The program also features inventive chamber works by George Walker, Caroline Shaw, and Philip Glass, taking listeners on an acoustic journey from spacious lyricism to hypnotic rhythmic momentum.
