Daniel Sloss brings his new stand-up show BITTER to Massey Hall (178 Victoria St.) on Friday, November 20, 2026. The original 7 p.m. show sold out, and a second show has been added at 9:30 p.m.

Sloss is a Scottish comedian who started doing stand-up as a teenager and has now been at it for more than half his life. His tours have reached 55 countries, he has sold out nine off-Broadway theatre seasons in New York, and he is one of the best-selling live comedians in the world. Many fans found him through his Netflix specials Dark and Jigsaw, the second of which became notorious for the number of people who said it made them rethink their relationships.

BITTER is his 13th solo show. Sloss tends to build a full hour around one big idea and push it somewhere uncomfortable, with dark jokes doing the heavy lifting on subjects most comics avoid. If you have seen his specials, you know the hour often ends somewhere more serious than where it started. The venue warns that the show contains adult themes and strong language, so this is not one for younger teens.

It is also a phone-free show. Ticket holders agree as a condition of entry not to photograph, film, record or stream it, and anyone who does will be removed without a refund. Expect your phone to be locked away or kept in your pocket, which suits this kind of comedy anyway. The show is deemed to start at the listed time, and there are no refunds or exchanges for late arrivals, so get there early.

Practical notes: Massey Hall is a short walk from Queen and Dundas stations on Line 1. Tickets for the late show are sold through Massey Hall and Ticketmaster. With the early show gone, the 9:30 p.m. seats are the ones to grab, and they are likely to go the same way.
