DANCER (A Musical in Ten Furlongs)

Tuesday, October 6, 2026 – Sunday, November 1, 2026
4:00 p.m. – 3:30 a.m.
The Terminal Theatre
Northern Dancer was too small, too awkward, and too stubborn — until he wasn't. DANCER (A Musical in Ten Furlongs) tells the true story of the Canadian-bred thoroughbred who won the 1964 Kentucky Derby and the people who refused to quit on him.
The Show
This is a dance musical, not a jukebox night: original score, contemporary choreography, and a cast and band of more than 30. The Toronto Star called it "a new Canadian dance musical for the ages" and "an undisputed champion" — rare praise for a hometown premiere still finding its legs.
Why See It
It's a sports story told through bodies and music rather than biopic dialogue. You don't need to know horse racing. You need to care about underdogs and the crews that back them.
Where & When
The Terminal Theatre at Queens Quay Terminal (207 Queens Quay West, third floor). Runs October 6 through November 1. Tickets via OvationTix.
