The YWCA Toronto hosts an important community screening and panel discussion for the documentary 'Braving Healing' on September 3, 2026.
About the Film and Event
Wading into the complex and often misunderstood journeys of recovery following childhood sexual abuse, 'Braving Healing' weaves together six distinct survivor stories alongside insights from advocates and experts. Created in collaboration with The Gatehouse and Preszler Injury Lawyers, the film provides a compassionate roadmap toward healing.
Community Resources and Support
Following the screening, a moderated panel featuring survivors, mental health professionals, and legal advocates will hold a safe space for dialogue. Attendees will also have access to community resource tables offering educational materials and direct pathways to support. Located at 87 Elm Street in downtown Toronto, the event runs from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and is tailored to be deeply survivor-centered and trauma-informed.
