Beaches Book Club

Thursday, August 6, 2026
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Beaches — Program Room
Drop by the Beaches Library for the monthly installment of the Beaches Book Club, where local readers gather in a relaxed, welcoming setting to dive deep into contemporary literature. For August, the group is tackling Barbara Kingsolver’s celebrated, Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, *Demon Copperhead*—a searing, modern-day retelling of Charles Dickens' *David Copperfield* set against the backdrop of the opioid crisis in the American Appalachia.
Whether you've finished every page or just want to listen in on the conversation, new members are always welcome. Physical copies are held at the first-floor desk, with digital editions available via Libby.
Situated right in the heart of the Beach neighbourhood along Queen Street East, the library puts you steps away from local coffee shops, artisan bakeries, and a breezy evening stroll down by the boardwalk.
