Bazodee- Emancipation Month Film Screening (2015)

As part of the Toronto Public Library's Black History and Culture Series, head over to the North York Central Library for a special post-Carnival screening of the 2015 film *Bazodee*.

Set against the lush backdrop of Trinidad and Tobago, the film stars Caribbean soca music icon Machel Montano as Lee de Leon, a romantic rasta singer who is hired last minute to perform at an engagement party. Sparks inevitably fly with the doting daughter of a businessman, played by Anita Panchouri, setting off a heartwarming and comedic exploration of love, family expectations, and local culture.

What to Expect Running from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM in Room 101, this free screening is a wonderful way to wind down the summer festivities and extend the celebratory energy of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival. Refreshments will be provided (with ingredient lists available for dietary awareness), and the event operates on a drop-in basis until room capacity is reached.
