About the Artist
Dawit L. Petros is a visual artist, researcher, and educator whose work investigates the complex legacies of colonial history across Africa, Europe, and North America. His practice is renowned for its rigorous research and creative use of archival materials, colour, and abstraction to challenge traditional documentary photography. Petros is an associate professor of studio art at Dartmouth College and has exhibited globally, from the Whitney Museum of American Art to the Addis Foto Fest.
