VenueMcMichael Canadian Art Collection
Join the McMichael Canadian Art Collection for an afternoon of insight and inspiration as they celebrate the installation of a new work by Toronto-based artist Aaron Jones. This talk is presented in partnership with the CONTACT Photography Festival, one of the city's most significant cultural events.
The Artist
Aaron Jones is known for his layered collages that blend found imagery, video, and lens-based media. His work is deeply personal, constructing characters and imagined spaces that explore memory, identity, and his own lived experience. By using image-making as a tool for reflection, Jones creates pieces that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
The Conversation
In this talk, Jones will be in conversation with McMichael curator John Geoghegan. They will discuss the creative process behind his new commission, his artistic influences, and the broader ideas that inform his practice. It’s a rare opportunity to hear directly from an artist about how they translate memory and identity into art.
