Twenty-five years after Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s whimsical cinematic love letter to Paris charmed festival audiences at TIFF, the story of Montmartre's quietest daydreamer returns to the stage in an intimate, music-driven theatrical production at Aki Studio.

Adapted from the Oscar-nominated film, *Amélie* follows an observant young cafe waitress living in 1990s Paris who secretly orchestrates small, miraculous interventions in the lives of the eccentric souls around her—from lonely recluses to grieving fathers. When she encounters Nino, a quirky collector of discarded photobooth portraits, Amélie must confront whether she has the courage to emerge from her own rich inner world and take a leap into vulnerable connection.

The Production Directed by Catie Thorne with music direction by Sophie Jestadt and choreography by Nicholas Rocque, the production features an energetic local cast led by Colette Richardson in the titular role of Amélie Poulain and Graysen LaPointe as Nino Quincampoix. The staging weaves together live instrumentation, clever puppetry engineered by Julia Sanders, and an expansive ensemble bringing Paris's bustling metro stations, cafes, and rooftop views to vibrant life.

The Venue & Planning Performances run at Native Earth Performing Arts’ Aki Studio, located within the Daniels Spectrum cultural hub in Regent Park (585 Dundas Street East). The intimate black-box space places audiences right in the heart of the storytelling.

The venue is fully accessible and easily reached via the 505 Dundas streetcar. Before or after the show, Regent Park and nearby Cabbagetown offer easy spots for a bite or a drink, including local cafes and restaurants along Parliament Street.
