Introduce young creators to the world of computer-aided design and digital manufacturing with a beginner-friendly 3D design workshop at the Port Union Library.
What to Expect
Using Tinkercad, a free web-based app, participants will combine simple geometric shapes to build complex models. Kids will learn the fundamentals of how 3D printers bring digital ideas into physical reality. Each participant will design a custom keychain, which staff will 3D print after the event for later pickup.
Practical Details
This is a free drop-in program, though space is strictly limited. Tickets will be handed out 30 minutes before the session starts, so be sure to arrive early to secure a spot. Located right near the lake in Scarborough, it's a great excuse to pair tech learning with a walk by Port Union Waterfront Park.
