Hot Docs Festival 2026

Thursday, April 23, 2026 – Monday, May 4, 2026
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema
Hot Docs is one of those Toronto institutions that punches far above what you'd expect from a documentary festival. Over 200 films from around the world screen across 11 days, and the programming reliably surfaces stories that end up in national conversations for months afterward.
What to Expect
The full lineup drops March 24, with members and package holders getting first access. Single tickets go on sale to the public March 31. Screenings happen at Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema on Bloor West and additional venues across the city. Past editions have premiered Oscar-winning documentaries, and the 2026 festival is expected to be no different.
Student & Senior Deal
Students and those 60+ with valid ID get free admission to regular screenings starting before 4 PM — day-of only, at the venue. It's one of the best cultural deals in the city.
Packages
If you're planning to see more than a few films, the 20-ticket and 12-ticket packages offer up to 30% savings. Available now at hotdocs.ca.
Why It Matters
Hot Docs isn't just a festival — it's a reason Toronto has one of the most engaged documentary audiences in the world. Whether you see one film or twenty, you'll walk out of at least one screening completely rethinking something.
