Don't miss a special Q&A screening of 'A Tribe Called Love,' a film that explores cultural barriers and the strength of young love. The screening will feature the writer/director Mohamed Ahmed, lead actors Dalmar Abuzeid and Feaven Abera, and producer Andy Marshall.
The Story
Set in a Somali neighbourhood in Toronto, the film follows teenagers Farah and Halima as they fall in love, despite warnings to stay apart due to their different tribes. When Farah’s family moves to Vancouver, the relationship is cut short, only for them to reconnect in their twenties back in Toronto. As they face the same cultural barriers that once divided them, the film asks: can their love rewrite their fate?

This is a powerful, modern-day cautionary tale that delves into the complexities of cultural identity and history.
